The albatross is the largest bird in the sky.
To feed their young, just like many other birds, they regurgitate food they cannot digest into the mouths of their chicks.
But what happens when they have ingested plastic? You guessed it. Some of their young ends up eating plastic as well. Sometimes plastic does not even make it out of their digestive systems...
Plastic has a shockingly far reach around the world and is washed up on some of the most unexpected, remote places. Midway Atoll, a remote island in the Pacific Ocean roughly 1,500 miles from the nearest dump receives trash from Asia and North America. The largest population of albatross in the world live here... just one example of how our daily habits as humans have global consequences.
