Behavioural Management

1.

Low- Key Responses.

This is the first step in dealing with behavioural events in the classroom. By practicing these, you will be able to: maintain the flow of your lesson, keeps things from escalating, and help kids to maintain their dignity.

2.

Squaring off.

When negative behaviour continues after trying low-key responses, try squaring off with the student.

3.

Logical Consequences.

We all need to be accountable for our actions sometimes, and that is okay! Click the button below to learn about the 3 types of logical consequences and how to facilitate them.

4.

Choice and the Implied Choice.

Giving children clear options promotes competence and autonomy in the classroom, even when things aren't going so well.

5.

Defusing the Power Struggle.

When situations escalate in your classroom here is what you can do.
