"Zoey delivered a presentation to my grade 6/7 class that was both engaging and informative. Students were inspired by her passion and first-hand experience at Fairy Creek, and left with a new understanding of what it means to be an activist. The presentation was appropriate and accessible for all ages and her warm personality allowed students to ask questions and engage in topics that might otherwise be hard to talk about. "Zoey Pickel is an excellent presenter and teacher! She came on to our program as a guest speaker to an online assembly of five grade 6 and 7 classes, no small feat. She delivered an engaging 2-hour long presentation filled with research, personal stories, engaging visuals and hands on activities. She has an excellent rapport with the students and was able to get over 100 students actively engaged with the material in a respectful, fun, and inquisitive way. Along with being generous and thorough with her knowledge, she is also tech savvy and reliable. She came to the presentation fully prepared with an absolute knowledge of facts, experience, and one of the most comprehensive PowerPoint presentations I have ever seen. There were an abundance of photos that were breathtaking and thought provoking which engaged the students immediately. They remained focused as the presentation went on, not an easy task to accomplish for a two hour session with grade sixes and sevens!
